A Church Without Walls Connecting People to Jesus & Christians to Christians.

One of the ways we are to be servants of Christ is through our witness. Do you ever think about the impact your life is having on others? Have you ever felt that you are not able to witness because of where you are or what is wrong with you? Over the years I have made excuses and have had many tell me why they don’t feel they are able to be a good witness. We let our circumstances hinder us.
We had a friend pass away over the weekend and he is at this moment walking on the streets of glory. He had unshakeable faith in God. He knew he was saved by grace and he knew that the health issues he had would all be healed when he reached heaven. He lived his life to be a witness for Christ.
It didn’t matter that he was handicapped. He didn’t let the fact that he lived in a facility for the developmentally disabled in the middle of the country stop him from witnessing. He was always smiling. This Godly man always found the positive in the negative. He was always praying for others.
As I have been reflecting on his life and reading through Facebook at the comments being made I realized that he could have made the same excuses so many of us make in regards to being an effective witness for Christ, but he didn’t. Instead he has touched doctors, nurses, teachers, preachers, farmers fellow residents, his caregivers, church members from the different churches that have gone to minister at the group home and numerous members of the community. The residents would go shopping or on other outings so I’m sure that the list of the different people he witnessed Christ to would just go on and on.
Now I ask myself why are we not sold out to Christ in this way? Why isn’t our first thought each day of being a witness for Christ? We that have been given so much from God yet we give so little back to God. How is it that we let ourselves become so busy that we forget that God is why we are here? We become so occupied with what we have been blessed with such as our homes, families, jobs, cars, etc. that we fail to take the time to share this with others. We convenience ourselves that we have nothing to offer so why would it make anyone want to know Christ?
It is all about living our whole life for Christ. People see how we live, how we react and how we treat others. Our attitude reflects the love of God in us. We must be bold enough to speak about what God has done for us. Use our daily life to reach out to others as friends then share our love of God with them and how he has revealed himself to us. Don’t try to be someone you are not just be yourself a child of God and this will draw people to you and to Him.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 (kjv)
